CARTHAGE – The third annual Splash Carthage Fun Day Committee invites everyone to bring their ATVs, motorcycles, floats and bikes to participate in the parade at Splash Fun Day on Saturday, Aug. 21.

The theme this year is comic book characters, fairy tales and nursery rhymes. Parade participants will line up at 9:30 a.m. on West Side Road beside Bradbury’s store. The parade will begin at 10 a.m. Anyone wishing to have their float judged should contact Sheila at 562-7713 or e-mail at [email protected].

Also planned for the day are a cribbage tournament, $5 entry fee; horseshoe tournament, $5 entry fee; bounce house and dunk tank for $1 a turn; a fry pan toss, $1 a throw; and lawn mower races, $5 entry fee.

Attendees may also make a boat to participate in the boat races. Boats should be 12 inches long, eight inches wide and 12 inches high and must have a sail. Entry fee is $1 or a can of food for the Carthage Food Pantry. There will be a barbecue at noon, and a lawn sale, vendors and music during the day. For more information, call 562-4908.
