RUMFORD — The RAAPA Chorus will begin rehearsals for its Christmas show on Tuesday, Aug. 31, at Mountain Valley Middle School.

The chorus is always open to new members beyond high-school age. Previous choral experience is recommended because the music can be challenging. The deadline for joining the chorus is Sunday, Aug. 15. Anyone interested should call Jeannine Murray at 562-4656.

All chorus members need to have an audio copy of the music to be performed. In order to have it by the first rehearsal, singers are asked to leave a CD or 60-minute audio cassette at Larsen’s Electric in Mexico no later than Aug. 25.

 Connie Porter will choreograph “Jingle Bell Rock” for a troupe of dancers she will lead. Anyone interested in dancing may contact her at 562-8232. Dancers may be adults or high-school students with previous dance experience.

The Aug. 31 rehearsal will be from 7 to 9 p.m. in the lecture hall at the middle school. Judith Kuhn will direct the chorus with accompaniment by Gail Dorr.
