BETHEL — The Mahoosuc Community Band will perform its end of summer concert at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16, at the Gould Academy Bingham Auditorium.

New players were added for the summer. Several young people from Telstar and Gould Academy are playing instruments and will join the band for the final concert of the season. The concert will be in the larger auditorium due to the addition of players.

Refreshments will be served after the concert and there will be a chance to meet the musicians. The concert is free to the public, but donations will be accepted to help provide music for the band.

The Mahoosuc Community Band continues to provide music for the people of the surrounding area and encourages participation at many levels, from students who want to advance their skills to grandparents who just love to play music. For the concert, the band will include one grandfather and grandson both playing trombone.

Interested musicians are welcome to attend a practice. Rehearsals for the fall will start at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 13, in the basement of the West Parish Congregational Church.
