MIDDLEBORO, Mass. —  Lucille Getrude (Duval) Hayes, 83, of Middleboro, died on Tuesday, Aug. 10, at the Golden Living Center Oak Hill, after a period of failing health.

She was born in Brockton, the daughter of the late Theophile J. and Lucia Julieana (Daneault) Duval. Educated in Brockton, she was employed at the Winthrop Atkins Co. for many years, as well as housekeeping at the Oak Hill Nursing Home. She will be warmheartedly remembered as a devoted mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by five sons, Louis Hayes and Richard Hayes, both of California, Kevin Hayes, David Hayes and Raymond Hayes, all of Middleboro; two daughters, Carol A. Blanton of Middleboro and Debra Earl of Lewiston; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was the mother of the late John W. Hayes Jr.; and the sister of the late Roger, Raymond, Gerald Duval and Lorraine Marble.
