Several hundred people attended the funeral of Theodore “Ted” Heidrich on Tuesday afternoon. The hearse, containing the flag-draped coffin of the local icon, turns off Route 26 into the field next to his homestead. A large white tent sheltered those attending the funeral with full military honors. His family vowed to continue to sell the Christmas trees across the street from Heidrich’s home.
