FARMINGTON — Robert James Abbott Sr., 59, of Farmington passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Aug. 18, at his home on High Street.
He was born April 26, 1951, in Phillips, the son of James R. and Verna Mae (Kennedy) Abbott. He was educated in the schools of Phillips. Robert worked for several years at Famington Shoe Co. and Franklin Shoe Co. in Farmington. As a young man, he also worked at Forster Manufacturing Co. in Strong. Robert enjoyed reading and was an avid movie buff.
Robert is survived by his daughter, Jeanette Dube and husband, Jamie, of Orrington; his son, Robert J. Abbott Jr. and his wife, Lori, of Arizona; five grandchildren, Katelyn, Joshua, Eric, Bryanna and Brady; a brother, Darold and his wife, Shirley, of Moscow; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Robert was predeceased by his sister, Alice Balleau.
