MONMOUTH — The Theater at Monmouth will present Gilbert and Sullivan’s “The Pirates of Penzance” as its fall musical. This famously silly play is filled with laughter and great music.

Pirates, delightful young maidens, the unforgettable officers of the constabulary and the ubiquitous Major-General Stanley will once again storm the Cumston stage.

One of the traditions of TAM’s annual fall show is that it brings together members of the community and theater professionals in an often silly bit of celebration.

The show, directed by David Greenham, will open at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 24, with additional evening performances on Sept. 25 and 30; and Oct. 1 and 2. There will be 2 p.m. matinees on Sept. 26, and Oct. 2 and 3. Tickets are $24 for adults, $22 for seniors and matinees, $20 for students.
