Free museum admission

LEWISTON — Admission to Museum L-A will be free on Friday, Sept. 3 and the first Friday of each month to follow. It will provide an opportunity for everyone to visit the museum regardless of their financial situation.

Museum L-A is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday and is located at 35 Canal St. in the Bates Mill Complex, corner of Canal and Chestnut streets. For more information, call 333-3881 or visit www.museumla.org.

Retired educators

AUBURN — The Androscoggin Retired Educators Association will meet at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, at the High Street Congregational Church. Rachel Desgrosseilliers from Museum L-A will present an illustrated talk about the museum’s work to keep the mill history alive.

The ladies of the church will prepare a meal of ham, homemade macaroni and cheese, sliced veggies and homemade pie. For dietary reasons sliced turkey may be substituted for ham. The cost of lunch is $10.

Grange meeting

TURNER — Members of Androscoggin Pomona Grange will meet for a 6:30 p.m. supper on Wednesday, Sept. 1, at the Turner Grange. The meeting, which will begin at 7:30, will include installation of officers performed by State Overseer Patrick Brewer and his installing team.

There will be a 50/50 raffle and an attendance drawing. All members and guests are invited.

Widows fellowship

LISBON FALLS — The Lisbon Area Widows Fellowship will meet on Tuesday, Sept. 7, at the Lisbon United Methodist Church on School Street.

The gathering for the fellowship begins at 11:30 a.m. followed by a potluck lunch. All interested widows in the area are invited to attend.
