Sadly, Dr. Terri MacKnight has left us, but she will never be forgotten.

She has been a tireless, unselfish advocate for Lyme disease-affected patients in spite of roadblocks consisting of an entrenched medical establishment, insurance companies and various bureaucracies.

She has encouraged and inspired physicians to be proactive in the recognition of that disease and its various treatment modalities.

Her determination has given us hope and strength to go on.

Albert Aniel, MD, Mexico

Editor’s note: Dr. MacKnight of Andover was one of the founders of the International Lyme and Associated Disease Society, serving as its first president in 1999.
