DIXFIELD — A Minnie Pearl look-alike contest, country jamboree and pumpkin weigh-in contest are among highlights of the seasonal closing weekend, Sept. 3-5, at Countryfolk Music Theatre.

On Friday, there will be a musicians campfire jam session from 5 to 9 p.m.

Saturday, the country jamboree will begin at 10 a.m. with new musicians performing every 30 minutes until 6 p.m. Among the thirty-six scheduled performers are Sandy Waite Haskell & Ric Haskell, Sonny Holland and Mary Garboski and Tim Decker of Farmington; Owen Donnell of Leeds; Off The Hill of Livermore and Fayette; Joe Thibeault of Rumford; Adam and Lucas Mitchell of Fayette, two of the Countryfolk youth music scholarship recipients for 2010; Robin and Alan Lewis of Livermore Falls; Jodi and Russ Mathers of Carthage; Larry Bisbee of Wilton; Lonnie and Liz Blood of New Vineyard; and Forrest Blood and Nickels and Dimes of Jay.

Guest performers Rik Palieri and Rebecca Padula of Vermont will headline the show from 6 to 7 p.m., followed by a dance with Terry Moore and Friends from 7 to 9 p.m.

On Sunday, country music will start at noon with 20-40 musicians performing until 6 p.m. The Minnie Pearl look-alike contest will take place at 2 p.m. Attendees will get a chance to guess the weight of a giant pumpkin, with all donations going to Countryfolk’s youth music scholarships.

Music will continue and close out the Countryfolk season at 6 p.m. There will be a potluck meal on Saturday at 4 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.
