LEWISTON — The Lewiston CareerCenter, 5 Mollison Way, continues its monthly programming, including workshops for job seekers and those who are considering training to upgrade their skills to increase their employability.

In addition to its regularly scheduled workshops, the CareerCenter will hold a Job Fair on Sept. 24 from 9 a.m. to noon with more than 25 employers on hand to recruit for their open positions. Job seekers should come prepared with a resume and dressed as if going to an interview. Job seekers should attend the “How to Prepare for a Job Fair” workshop to learn more about job fairs and how to make them a successful experience. Those workshops will be held Sept. 14 from 10 to 11 a.m. and Sept. 16 from 4 to 5 p.m. Registration is required. Call for more information.

Every Monday at 1 p.m., the Unemployed Professionals Group meets to support unemployed and underemployed professionals. Meeting dates and topics:

Sept. 6 — No meeting; holiday.

Sept. 13 — Kiersey Personality Sorter, Cher Tyra, WMCA/Lewiston CareerCenter.

Sept. 20 — Loss, Change and Mental Health, Bill Lagasse, LCSW

Sept. 27 — Taking the Nervous Edge out of Interviewing, Catherine Bachelder, senior recruiter, McKesson Corp.

The Career Decision-Making workshop is two parts. On Monday, participants will discuss tools to help make career decisions. On Friday, they will use the information gained to make career plans. Registration is required. Dates are Sept. 13 and 17, or Sept. 27 and Oct. 1. Time is 9 a.m. to noon.

Job Search Skills will be held Sept. 10 or 17, from 10 a.m. to noon. Registration is required.

The group Focus on Your Job Search meets every Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m Meet with an employment counselor and other business and community experts to discuss job search challenges and strategies. Receive support, mentoring and guidance for a successful job search.

CareerCenter Training Orientation is an overview of training programs at the CareerCenter, eligibility requirements and information on accessing services. Ask CareerCenter staff for the schedule of meetings and to register (required).

Essentials of College Planning for Adults will be offered Sept. 15 or 29, beginning at 10 a.m. (lasts about two to three hours). Bring last year’s income tax forms. Registration is required.

An adult education representative will be available Wednesdays during Steptember from 10:15 to 11 a.m.

New to the Lewiston CareerCenter are orientations for people with disabilities who are considering vocational rehabilitation services. Orientations are held the third Friday of each month.
