AUBURN — Ben Bowles tossed his first varsity shutout as Edward Little blanked Morse, 2-0, in KVAC boys’ soccer action Tuesday.
Bowles saved seven shots and got all of the scoring he needed a little over seven minutes into the contest when Ian Theriault put the rebound of a Zack Tannenbaum shot in the back of the net. Tim Mains added late insurance for EL (2-0), heading in a corner kick from Tannenbaum with 3:17 remaining.
Grady Madden made three saves in net for Morse (1-1).
Mt. Blue 3, Skowhegan 1
FARMINGTON — Dylan Stinchfield registered a hat trick Tuesday as Mt. Blue hustled to a 3-1 victory over Skowhegan in a KVAC boys’ soccer matchup.
Colton Hall also contributed for the Cougars (1-1), making assists on all three of Stinchfield’s goals. Matt Crowley needed only two saves to record the win.
Trevor Haisler netted the lone goal for Skowhegan (0-2), while Chase Palmer turned aside 16 shots between the posts for Skowhegan.
Richmond 3, Buckfield 1
BUCKFIELD — Peter Lorbeski netted a goal with just two minutes remaining in regulation to lift Richmond to a 3-1 EWC victory over Buckfield in an early-season boys’ soccer tilt Tuesday.
Kyle O’Brien and Sam Lorbeski also tallied for the Bobcats (2-0), while Sam added an assist.
Kasey Robertson tallied the lone goal for Buckfield (1-1). Tom Carter made eight saves for Richmond, while Robertson and Garrett Hamann combined to make 22 saves for the Bucks.
Brunswick 3, Oxford Hills 0
PARIS — Conor Tamminen led a trio of players to record goals Tuesday as Brunswick hustled to a 3-0 victory over Oxford Hills in a KVAC boys’ soccer matchup.
Wilder Nicholson and Will Brann also tallied for the Dragons (2-0) to complete the scoring. Brunswick jumped out to a 1-0 advantage in the first half and was never challenged.
Seth Holmblad made eight saves for Brunswick to record the win, while Matt McVety turned aside 10 shots in goal for the Vikings.
