LEWISTON — A Lewiston man is being held on $25,000 bond at the Androscoggin County Jail after a weekend fight and subsequent stabbing at a Blake Street apartment.

Mark Joseph McLaughlin, 50, of 18 Blake St. No. 3, was charged with elevated aggravated assault early Sunday morning following a fight at his apartment that resulted in a 57-year-old man being stabbed multiple times.

Lt. Mark Watson of the Lewiston Police Department released few details about the case, including the victim’s name. He said that the victim was taken to Central Maine Medical Center. An update on the man’s condition was unavailable Sunday night.

Watson said that McLaughlin and the victim were the only two people involved in the dispute, and it was not clear yet whether or not the two were somehow related. He said that the incident remains under investigation.
