PARIS — A 21-year-old man pleaded guilty in the Oxford County Superior Court on Monday to sexually assaulting a teenage girl two years ago.
Jacob James Goddard, of 26 Cottage St. in Norway, admitted to a charge of unlawful sexual contact. The plea substituted the charge for four counts of gross sexual assault, which were dismissed.
Goddard, formerly of Mill Hill Road in Waterford, was arrested in May 2008 on charges of raping a 15-year-old girl when he was 19 years old.
Under the plea agreement, Justice Robert Clifford sentenced Goddard to serve one year of a four-year prison sentence. Goddard must also have no contact with the girl, attend sex offender counseling and register as a sex offender for 10 years.
“I really hope you learned from this and get the help you need,” the girl told Goddard as she spoke to the court.
