Farmington police officer William Tanner photographs an accident scene involving a van driven by Michael Reardon, 37, of New Vineyard that landed on its roof after it hydroplaned on Route 27, near the intersection of Stanley Road and the New Vineyard line at about 2:45 p.m. Monday. Reardon was uninjured, Tanner said. He was traveling north and the road was so wet the van hydroplaned and slid sideways across the road, Tanner said. The back wheels caught a drainage ditch and flipped the van onto its roof, he said. The van slid into the utility pole and tripped an electrical transformer, knocking out power briefly to a house on the road, Tanner said. He estimated $4,000 to $5,000 in damage to the van. Farmington Fire and Rescue stood by at the scene.
