CUMBERLAND, Maine (AP) — A cat from Maine that strayed seven miles from home during a three-week adventure is back with its owners in Cumberland.

Owners of Kaden the cat took out a full-page advertisement in the Portland Press Herald for three days and offered a $500 reward for the cat’s return.

The newspaper said the cat showed up in Falmouth and that a family that clipped the ad from the newspaper lured him inside on Wednesday.

Katherine Smith says the ad was worth every penny she paid for it because it helped secure the return of her shy Bengal kitty. She didn’t say how much the ad cost. The newspaper didn’t disclose the cost either, though a full-page ad can run more than $9,000.
