LIVERMORE FALLS – Drama teacher Anne Weatherbee is calling all inspiring performers and singers to audition for the play “Annie.” She promises to find a part for anyone who tries out.

The musical will be performed by Livermore Falls High School and Community Musical Theatre at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3, on the high school stage.

Weatherbee will hold auditions at 3:30 and 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, in the cafeteria of the high school.

“It takes a big cast of all ages,” she said.

There will be solo singing roles, group singing roles, strong acting parts and other roles available in the play.

“It’s a little bit of everything,” she said.

The play is set in December 1933, in the middle of the Depression in New York City.

“The play takes us from New York City Municipal Orphanage to Oliver Warbuck’s mansion,” Weatherbee said. “We will also have a guest appearance by President Franklin Roosevelt.”

It is definitely a feel-good, rags-to-riches story that ends right before Christmas, she said.

“We cast everyone who wants a part in the play,” she said. “People should feel confident if they come out that they will have a part.”

The part played by Sandy, a dog, has already been cast. They have found a service dog for that part.

Anyone who wants to take part but is not available Tuesday may leave Weatherbee a message at 897-3428, ext. 112, or e-mail her at [email protected].
