Mt. Abram 1, Mountain Valley 0
RUMFORD — Junior midfielder Aiden Drumstas scored on a header 25 minutes into the first half to lift Mt. Abram to a 1-0 victory over Mountain Valley in MVC boys’ soccer action Wednesday.
The Roadrunners (5-0) controlled the ball in a well-played game all around. The Falcons (0-5) had several chances late, but the Mt. Abram defense held strong.
Goalie David Widger made seven saves for Mountain Valley, while Josh Beedy earned the win in net for Mt. Abram with three saves.
Dirigo 5, Jay 0
DIXFIELD — Hunter Ross and Cody St. Germain each netted a pair of goals as Dirigo cruised to a 5-0 victory over Jay in a MVC boys’ soccer tilt Wednesday.
The Cougars (4-1) jumped out to a 2-0 advantage in the first frame and were never challenged. Chad Snowman also tallied to complete the scoring.
Caleb Turner made five saves to preserve the shutout. Tyler Gervais turned aside 15 shots between the posts for Jay (1-3).
Livermore Falls 8, Carrabec 4
LIVERMORE FALLS — Junior striker Jake Freeman netted four goals to lead Livermore Falls to an 8-4 triumph over Carrabec in MVC boys’ soccer action Wednesday evening.
The Andies (2-2) jumped out to a 5-0 halftime lead, applying pressure every step of the way. Henry Seideler contributed three assists as the Andies ticked off eight tallies.
Morgan Taylor paced the Cobras (1-3) with two goals and an assist.
Goalie Cody LeHay made six saves for Carrabec, while Ethan Hutchins turned away nine shots to earn the win in net for Livermore Falls.
