AUBURN — Donatien J. “Jack” Tardif, 92, formerly of 70 Jefferson St., Lewiston, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 18, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.
He was born in Auburn, Sept. 24, 1917, the son of the late Donat J. and Beatrice Charest Tardif. He was educated in Auburn schools and served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was married June 28, 1941, to Lucienne M. Guerrette, who predeceased him March 2, 2009.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a mason in Connecticut.
Jack was a member of the Basilica Sts. Peter and Paul and enjoyed hockey and baseball.
He is survived by a daughter, Barbara Uliano of Chandler, Ariz.; two grandchildren, Tina Gibson and husband, Brian, of Phoenix, Ariz., and Anthony Uliano and wife, Elizabeth, of Cromwell, Conn.; four great-grandchildren, Grant and Nate Gibson, Corinna and Arianna Uliano; a sister, Rejeanne Chaisson and husband, Lionel, of Florida; and nieces and nephews and a special niece, Patricia Gregoire of Turner.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Vivian Tardif and Gertrude Fournier; and a brother, Gerald Tardif.
