Tournament

NORWAY — The Harrison Lion’s Club will sponsor a Texas Hold ’em tournament from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at Charlie’s Entertainment Center, 246 Main St. Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. The entry fee is $55. A cash bar and food and refreshments will be available.

The tournament is limited to 100 players. Proceeds will be used to provide services that the Lion’s Club renders to the community.

Pumpkins

SOUTH PARIS — The fourth-grade students of the Waterford Memorial School will be at the Fox School Farmers Market, 10 East Main St., from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 25.

The students planted pumpkin plants in the spring at Deerwood Gardens in Waterford and returned this fall to harvest the pumpkins. All are welcome to stop by to buy a pumpkin and support the students.

Bridge play

OXFORD — The Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met Sept. 17 in the Recreation Building on King Street. A six-table Howell movement was played.

Finishing first in flight A were Paul Kahl and Nick Karamessinis; second, Rosemarie Goodwin and Luke Merry; third, Cynthia Clifford and Claire Lyons, also first in flight B.

Finishing second in flight B were Hazel Glazier and Marta Clements; third, Cindy Kirchherr and David Kallander, also first in flight C. Finishing second in flight C were Hank Sakrison and Denny Raymond; third, Helen Kerson and Milt McKeen.

The next game will be played at 9:15 a.m. Friday, Sept. 24. A partner is guaranteed.

Legion dance

SOUTH PARIS — The Jones Dance Band will play old-fashioned dance music from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at the Legion Hall on Church Street. The cost is $5.
