DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Auburn Lions Club is preparing for another year, and your super column can help us. First, the club is looking for persons, who might like to join. Our club meets on the first and third Wednesday of each month at noontime.

A major focus of Lions is to provide eyeglasses and hearing aids to people in need. Interested persons should contact me at 784-0159.

The Auburn Lions Club has raised funds through a candy vending machine. We would like to ask your readers if any of them has a candy/gum machine that they would donate to our club. We have several locations that would allow a machine if we had one or two more.

Lastly, the club collects eyeglasses, hearing aids and cell phones. These can be dropped off at ERA Worden Realty or Remax River Cities (both are on Center Street, Auburn). Thanks for helping the Auburn Lions Club to get its message out — Mary Ann Norcross, member

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Lyaf bingo is a nonprofit organization that donates to local schools and their libraries though the profits gained from bingo games. We are in need of a Paymaster, as we are writing more than 100 checks per week. Would anyone have one to donate or sell to us? Please contact Jane at Pleasant Street bingo hall, 777-1397. Much appreciated. — J. Burns, president, Lyaf

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Lisbon United Methodist Church is looking for a piano in good condition for a reasonable price. If anyone has one or knows of someone who has one, please call me at 353-5494. We will pick it up. — Arlene Aldoupolis, Lisbon Falls

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Attention all who called me a few weeks ago about the ring I found near Hannaford in Lewiston. Please call me back. I might have misunderstood the description one person gave me. I called a jeweler to clarify the description, and I think someone did identify correctly, hopefully so. Please call me at 784-7120. — Simone, Lewiston

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I wonder where I could find the words to songs from the 1930s, ’40s and ’50s, etc. I don’t have a computer, but I love music and old songs. — Leona Brown, Auburn

ANSWER: Not having a computer doesn’t mean you can’t get information online. Your public librarian can help you look up the lyrics to your favorite song.

Another option is old song books and sheet music. Sun Spots would be willing to bet there are readers who have some they’d be willing to share copies of or give away.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I lost my LG TracFone on Friday, Aug. 27, around 2:30 p.m. I park at the corner of Pine and Park streets on the right and next to the library. If someone found it, please call me at 784-4443.
