Bridget Cain appeared in the role of political stump speaker last evening shortly before 9 o’clock. She addressed a crowd of about 100 people in front of The Sun office for several minutes, her speech although rather rambling being nevertheless of sufficient interest to keep the crowd there. Officers from the police station arrested her for intoxication.

A walk-up, drive-up telephone box, first of its kind in Lewiston, will be installed near the Lincoln Street fire substation by the New England Tel. & Tel. Co.
Ward Three Alderman Ernest Malenfant told other councilmen that he “cooked this up” with manager William Mennealy. The city will receive a commission on the “take” above a certain amount.
Mennealy said the walk-up, drive-up box, which both pedestrians and motorists will be able to use, will be the first of its type installed in the Textile City.

“The Status of Health Care in Maine” will be the subject of St. Mary’s Hospital President Andrew J. Riddell when he addresses the Lewiston-Auburn Area Chamber of Commerce’s monthly breakfast meeting on Sept. 26. The breakfast meeting will be at the Quality Inn Roundhouse at 7:15 a.m.
