FARMINGTON — Seven reports of car burglaries near the fairgrounds area on High Street were called in to Farmington Police Sunday morning. The vehicles were left unlocked.
Some of the cars were parked overnight Saturday on High Street near Sawtelle Lane, said department secretary Rachel Heseltine.
Officer Ted Neil started receiving complaints Sunday from owners of vehicles who found small items such as their GPS, phone charger or a CB missing from their vehicles. A wallet with less than $50 was also reported taken from a front seat.
Some owners found nothing taken but the inside of the vehicle, including glove boxes, had been searched and were “ all messed up,” she said.
Police continue to remind owners to lock their vehicles after a rash of car burglaries this summer.
