On a cool night of steady drizzle reminiscent of a London fog, the Lewiston Lumberjaxx youth baseball team suffered their its set-back of the fall season, 12-4, to Oxford Hills.

The ‘Jaxx started relatively well, scoring one in the first on a combination of walks and wild pitches. But the lead was short-lived as Oxford Hills pushed across five runs (one earned) against starter Isaac Escobar.

Oxford Hills tallied two more in the second off reliever Jean-Luc Dostie on hits by Dailey, West and Verrier.

Hunter Landry got plunked to lead off the top of the third for Lewiston and was promptly driven in by Gage Cote to make it a 7-2 score.

Lumberjaxx pitching settled down in the bottom of the third, with Dostie fanning the side. Oxford Hills scored another off reliever Cote in the bottom of the 4th despite striking out twice. Landry pitched brilliantly in the fifth and sixth innings, striking out four and allowing neither a hit nor a walk.

Lewiston (4-1) rallied for two runs in the bottom of the sixth, but Oxford Hills plated four more in the seventh to secure to win.
