FARMINGTON — A free, three-week class for anyone interested in starting a business is being offered in Farmington starting Oct. 6. “The Basics of Starting a Business” is a joint project of the Maine Centers for Women, Work and Community and the Women’s Business Center at Coastal Enterprises Inc.

The course is designed to answer questions, discuss pros and cons of being an entrepreneur, and help attendees take the first steps. The class covers the basics of a business plan, marketing and cash planning and is suitable for those thinking about or in a start-up phase of a new business. Preregistration and attendance at all three sessions is required.

Workshop sessions will be held Oct. 6, 13 and 20, from 9 a.m. to noon at the WWC office, 108 Perham St., Suite A, Farmington.
