LEWISTON — Trinity Jubilee Center has announced its annual Diaper Drive from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, at the Hannaford Supermarket on Sabattus Street.
The Jubilee Center is dedicated to helping people in need in the Lewiston-Auburn area. In the past year, the center’s food pantry has assisted an average of 275 families weekly with food and diapers. As more neighbors in need visit the Jubilee Center, more diapers are needed.
With the ever-growing need for diapers, the Jubilee Center is asking the area for help. Area businesses are encouraged to hold company diaper drives prior to Oct. 23, and to deliver the diapers to the Lewiston Hannaford that day.
A mascot from the Lewiston Maineiacs will be on hand to help collect diapers, and will give out Maineiacs merchandise to folks dropping off diapers.
Three other diaper drives to benefit the Jubilee Center, featuring Dave and Michelle, the morning crew of country radio station 99.9 the Wolf, will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hannaford Supermarket in Gorham on Monday, Oct. 18, Hannaford in Windham on Wednesday, Oct. 20 and the Falmouth Hannaford on Thursday, Oct. 21.
All diaper sizes are needed, with an urgent need for sizes three, four and five. Donations for diapers may also be made to the Trinity Jubilee Center Diaper Drive, 247 Bates St., Lewiston, ME 04240.
