LEWISTON — Celine Y. Blais, 65, of Blake Street Towers, Lewiston, died Saturday, Oct. 2, from a short illness. She battled with Multiple Sclerosis since 1988.

She was born in Lewiston, May 28, 1945, the daughter of Ronaldo and Marie Alice (Dion) Boucher. On July 1, 1968, she married Maurice Blais, who died in 1978. She was a lifelong resident of the Twin Cities, and was employed at local restaurants, including being the lunch lady at St. Peter’s School. She also worked in local shoe shops, and prior to her retirement in 1993, she worked at Poirier’s Market. She enjoyed bingo, word search puzzles, plastic canvas and needlepoint.

She is survived by one daughter, Lisa, and her husband, Scott Bussiere of Auburn; one son, Daniel Blais and his wife, Nanette, of Princeton; one sister, Francine Fink and her husband, Albert, of Montreal, P.Q.; one brother, Ronald Boucher and his wife, Claire, of Lisbon; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
