AUBURN — Simone R. Gagne, 89, of Horton Street, Lewiston, died Saturday, Oct. 2, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin, after a short illness.

She was born in Lewiston, Nov.5, 1920, the daughter of Emile and Blanche (Labbe) Gaudette. She was the wife of John Gagne, who died in 2007. She worked in the local shoe industry as a floor lady supervisor prior to her retirement. She was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Church and Ladies of Saint Anne. Simone enjoyed cooking and had a great love for animals.

She is survived by three sons, John “Sonny” of Lewiston, Roger and his wife, Andrea, of Falmouth, and Robert Gagne of Lewiston; one daughter, Pauline Ellis of Lewiston; one brother, Leo, and his wife, Rosalie Gaudette of Lewiston; one sister-in-law, Rose Gaudette of Lewiston; seven grandchildren, Scott, Michael, Kevin, Kristina, Melissa, Danielle and Nicholas; four great-grandchildren, Katrina, Kylie, Ethan and Abigail; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by three brothers, Emile, Roland and Roger; and by four sisters, Bertha, Evelyn, Lauretta and Georgette.
