STRONG — A local man faces a drug charge after police say they seized more than 20 pounds of recently harvested marijuana from a residence at Burbank Hill Road.
Ivan Gould Jr., 58, was issued a summons over the weekend on a felony charge of unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs, Franklin County Sheriff’s Lt. Niles Yeaton said Monday.
A conviction on the charge carries up to 10 years in prison.
Deputies and Maine Drug Enforcement agents executed a search warrant on Thursday at Gould’s residence that included outbuildings and vehicles, he said.
The search revealed recently harvested marijuana that was in several stages of being processed, he said.
Police also seized drug paraphernalia, including scissors, clippers and weighing scales, Yeaton said.
“We won’t know the official weight until we get it to the lab,” he said. “We won’t know the value until we know how much it weighs.”
