OWLS HEAD — On Thursday, Oct. 14, the Owls Head Transportation Museum will host the Community Celebration Concert featuring “The Global Cowboy,” internationally recognized singer-songwriter Brent Moyer of Nashville.

Opening will be The Moxie Cove Band, a traditional bluegrass band from Round Pond. Members, all vocalists, are Wells Hodus on banjo, Quentin Yattaw on mandolin, Steve Bixby on bass and Larry LeBlanc on guitar.

The free concert will also include door prizes, light refreshments and an opportunity to view museum exhibits.

“Longtime museum friend Brent Moyer is the most appropriate choice to thank the museum’s dedicated community for their continued support and participation over the past 34 years,” Director Charles Chiarchiaro said. “Brent’s music is warm-spirited, universal, and a gift to us all. The Moxie Cove Band will add their exciting, fun bluegrass tunes for all to enjoy.”

The concert will begin at 6 p.m. Seating is limited, so reservations are required. Call 594-4418 or e-mail your name, phone number, address and number of seats desired to [email protected].

Open every day year-round, the Owls Head Transportation Museum is at 117 Museum St., off Route 73. For more information, visit www.owlshead.org.
