PARIS — Western Maine University and Community College Center is offering a one-hour workshop for anyone who wants to get an advanced degree.

Preparing for Graduate School will be provided at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 21, by interactive television at the Paris campus.

“There’s no cost. They come here to watch the presentation,” explained Shannon Moxcey, assistant to the director of the center at 232 Main St.

Moxcey said this is the first time she is aware of that such a workshop has been offered via television. The workshop will be broadcast live from the University of Maine at Augusta.

“We do these frequently at different times of the year,” she said of other televised workshops, including how to choose a degree program and steps to becoming a teacher in Maine. The workshops are offered through Maine’s university system and are free.

The upcoming advance degree workshop will provide assistance for those wanting to pursue an advanced degree. Topics include graduate examinations, choosing the right school and a preparation timeline. There will also be time for questions and answers, she said.

For more information or to register for the workshop call 743-9322.
