AUBURN — Emily Ranucci scored four goals Friday to lead Edward Little to a 5-0 field hockey victory over Morse on Friday.

Ranucci’s outburst gives her a team-high 16 goals on the season for the Red Eddies (9-3-1).

Miranda Martin also scored. Madison Williamson recorded a pair of assists, while Maranda Parent, Marie Dufresne-Dixon and Tori Couture were credited with assists.

Amanda Williams had three saves for the shutout. Alice Stenquist made 14 saves for the Shipbuilders (0-13).

Mountain Valley 2, Jay 0

RUMFORD — Ayla Allen scored a pair of goals in the first half to send Mountain Valley to a 2-0 victory over Jay in an MVC field hockey match Friday.

Peyton Provencher earned an assist on one of the goals.

Emily Gallant stopped three shots to get the win for Mountain Valley (9-4). Ashlee Quirrion made 10 saves for Jay.

Lisbon 3, Winthrop 1

WINTHROP — Makayla Stevens scored a pair of goals and earned an assist as Lisbon dropped Winthrop with a 3-1 victory in a field hockey game Friday.

The Greyhounds (8-6) took a 1-0 lead in the first half when Stevens scored on a an Allie Fitzgerald pass.

Fitzgerald then scored on a Stevens feed, and Lisbon led 2-0. Winthrop (9-3) responded with its only goal when Mary Claire Blanchard scored on assist from Nikki Scott to make it a one-goal game.

Lisbon’s Stevens scored her second goal on a Fitzgerald feed again in the second half to give the Greyhounds two-goal cushion.

The Ramblers outshot the Greyhounds, 17-11, and held the advantage in corners at 10-6.

Telstar 7, Dirigo 0

BETHEL — Kayla Merrill notched a hat trick as Telstar poured it on with a 7-0 victory over Dirigo in MVC field hockey action Friday afternoon.

The Rebels (12-1) took a conservative 2-0 lead into intermission, but poured on the offense with five tallies in the second half. Kallie Brown, Katie Sumner, Jamie Steven and Lyndsay Merrill chipped in with a goal apiece.

Goalie Betsy Noyes made several nice saves for the Cougars (2-10-1) in the losing effort.

Livermore Falls 5, Boothbay 1

LIVERMORE FALLS — Kim Theriault scored a pair of goals to pace Livermore Falls to a 5-1 victory over Boothbay in MVC field hockey action Friday.

Sarah Caron scored an unassisted goal in the first half for the Seahawks (2-10-1) to tie the game at 1-1. But, the Andies (13-1) recorded a pair of unanswered goals to make it 3-1 at intermission.

Goalie Madison McCathy made 10 saves for Boothbay, while Caylee Morris deflected five shots to earn the win in net for Livermore Falls.

Girls’ soccer

Madison 3, Jay 2

MADISON — Jay threw a scare into Madison (5-5-1) in the second half, but the Bulldogs held on for a 3-2 victory in a girls’ soccer game Friday afternon.

In the first half, it looked like a cakewalk when Madison reeled off three consecutive goals in the first half. Kianna Libby, Kirsten Wood and Nathalie Michaud each scored a goal to give the Bulldogs a 3-0 lead. Michaud and Alex Jarvis each picked up assists.

But with 8:32 left in the first half, Jay’s Alexi Deering scored on a Beth Moore assist. The Tigers weren’t done with the Bulldogs, yet. Casidee Couture scored on a Deering assist with 3:16 left in the game.

But Madison held off Jay even though the Tigers outshot the Bulldogs, 10-8.
