AUBURN — St. Dom’s posted a pair of first-half goals Tuesday and hung on to a 2-0 girls’ soccer victory over Mountain Valley in a late-season MVC matchup.
The unbeaten Saints (11-0-1) received goals from Sophie Goulet and Emily Rioux, while Stephanie Costello was credited with an assist.
Mary Caron needed only two saves to record the shutout, while Brianna Roberts turned aside 19 shots in goal for the Falcons (3-7-3).
Cony 2, Edward Little 1
AUBURN — Suzanna Deeves scored an unassisted goal with 25 minutes left to lift Cony to a 2-1 victory over Edward Little in a KVAC girls’ soccer tilt Tuesday.
After a scoreless first half, the two squads got their offense into gear. Josie Lee also tallied for the Rams (5-5-2), while Phoebe Chamberlin gave the Red Eddies (5-6) reason for hope.
Alli Chase made seven saves for Cony, while Taylor Landry turned back nine shots for Edward Little.
Mt. Ararat 3, Lewiston 1
LEWISTON — Senior striker Randi London scored a first-half goal for the eventual game-winner as Mt. Ararat grabbed a 3-1 triumph over Lewiston in KVAC girls’ soccer action Tuesday.
The Eagles scored three times before the Blue Devils (1-9) recorded a tally. Mariah Carrier netted an unassisted goal midway through the second half to spoil the shutout.
Lewiston goalie Mackenzie Masselli faced a tremendous amount of shots, making 22 saves for Lewiston. Shauna Williams turned back seven to earn the win in net for Mt. Ararat.
Jay 5, Carrabec 3
NORTH ANSON — Alexi Deering netted four goals to propel Jay to a 5-3 victory over Carrabec in MVC girls’ soccer action Tuesday.
Jasmie Gagne also tallied for the Tigers to complete the scoring.
The Cobras received a pair goals from Becca Bergeron, while Leah Poirier also found the net.
Gray-NG 2, Poland 0
GRAY — The Gray-New Gloucester girls’ soccer squad scored a goal in each half Tuesday and came away with a 2-0 victory over Poland in an WMC matchup.
Julia Martell converted a pass from Maggie Chaplin to give the Patriots a 1-0 advantage. Haylee Cote added an insurance goal in the second half, with an assist from Taylor Darnell.
Sammie Wilkins made 10 saves for Gray-New Gloucester, while Cassi Mocciola turned back 12 saves between the posts for the Knights.
Madison 1, Mt. Abram 0
MADISON — Nathalie Michaud used a cross from Sam McLaughlin with 35 seconds left in double overtime and punched in the winning goal, lifting Madison to a 1-0 victory over Mt. Abram in a girls’ soccer game Tuesday.
The Bulldogs (6-5-1) and the Roadrunners (2-6-4) played through two scoreless halves before Michaud settled the score.
The Roadrunners were stubborn, though, outshooting Madison, 10-7, but both teams were even in corners at 4-4.
Madison goalie Savanna Kandiko earned the shutout, making 10 saves.
Buckfield 5, Valley 0
BINGHAM — Junior forward Danielle Patrie scored a pair of goals to lead Buckfield to a 5-0 victory over Valley in EWC girls’ soccer actionTuesday.
The Bucks (3-6-1) dominated on offense, leading Valley 34-5 in shots. Alicia Patrie contributed with a pair of assists.
Goalie Karin McKenzie had eight saves for the Cavaliers (0-11), while goalie Katie Corson recorded her first shutout in net for Buckfield with three saves.
Field hockey
Oak Hill 3, Erskine 1
WALES — The Oak Hill field hockey squad netted a pair of goals in the second half to pull out a 3-1 victory over Erskine in KVAC action Tuesday.
The Raiders (1-12) jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first half when Miranda Dalessandris took a cross from Becca Tucci and fired it into the net. Ashley Beauparlant and Monica Grass also tallied for Oak Hill.
Erskine (1-12) received a lone goal from Hailee Paradis. Sarah Lacroix made 11 saves for Oak Hill, while Tabitha Plourde turned back six shots in the cage for Erskine.
Leavitt 1, Maranacook 0
READFIELD — Casey Fichter scored on a shot from the right side of the circle at the 27:50 mark of the first half to lift Leavitt to a 1-0 victory over Maranacook in KVAC field hockey action Tuesday.
Amanda Jordan controlled the tempo from the midfield for the Hornets (10-2-1). Leavitt had many other opportunities, outshooting the Black Bears (4-9) by a margin of 16-0, but converted only the one goal.
Goalie Meagan Dood made 10 saves for Maranacook, while Taylor Eells didn’t face a shot in the Leavitt cage.
