NORWAY — Local author Al Pelletier has released a book, “Dawn the Misfit Moo Duck,” through PublishAmerica.

The book, illustrated by Tia Buckingham, centers around an orphaned Dawn who seems to have a bleak future, but Mother Nature has a way of protecting and nurturing her. As a harsh Maine Winter makes surviving difficult, Dawn finds she has a guardian angel, who comes in a strange form.

Born and raised in Maine, Pelletier served 30 months in Vietnam with the U.S. Navy. He is a retired business manager and owner, as well as a singer-songwriter. He performed a song he wrote at the 25th anniversary of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C.
