LEWISTON — The seventh annual Veterans Day Prayer Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, at Holy Family Church. Everyone in the Lewiston-Auburn community is invited to attend and participate in the event to “remember and give thanks” to all who have served or are currently serving in the United States Armed Forces.

Volunteers are needed to participate in the service. Veterans and those currently serving are needed to act as flag bearers and escorts for their respective branches of service, along with the U.S. and POW-MIA flags.

Anyone currently serving is encouraged to wear their uniform along with their medals earned if wearing Class A uniforms. Retirees and honorably discharged veterans may also wear their uniforms at the service. If a uniform has shrunk, it is permissible for retirees and honorably discharged veterans to wear military awards on appropriate civilian clothes for gatherings such as Veterans Day.

Those wishing to participate may call Rog Hamann at 375-4883.
