FARMINGTON — Titcomb Mountain Lodge in West Farmington will host an open house and membership and season pass sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16 and again from noon to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20.

All are welcome to see the facilities, and meet the staff and family members. Information will be available on club membership, season passes and children’s programs.

A volunteer work party day will also be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16. The work day will be an opportunity for members and anyone in the community that has used the facilities at Titcomb Mountain to help prepare for the winter season. Tasks will include painting, trail maintenance and firewood preparation. The rain date will be Sunday, Oct. 17.

The Farmington Ski Club was formed in 1939 by a small group of enthusiastic Farmington residents skiing on nearby Voter Hill. In 1948, 135 acres of the Knapp Farm were purchased by the club and the area was dedicated as the John Abbott Titcomb Memorial Ski Slope. The club and slope has grown over the years with improvements in the trails system, snow making, lodge expansions, lift and grooming equipment. The club continues to offer affordable recreation through the efforts of many club and community volunteers.
