I am always interested in what the Sun Journal editorial writers write about, but I seldom agree with them.
True to form, the editorial dated Oct. 13 misses the mark. It creates several rabbit trails and a smoke screen to divert the responsibility for the $4.4 billion unfunding of the Maine State Retirement System away from the present and past governors and Legislatures.
Shame on those people, including those who still hold elected offices in Maine state government, for their budget shenanigans.
Why would the editorial writer offer a bunch of excuses for the reason the shortfall exists?
