NORWAY — The Oxford County Democrats will hold two “final push” suppers during the week before the Nov. 2 election. A potluck supper will be held Tuesday, Oct. 26, at the Universalist Church on Main Street and a spaghetti supper will be held Friday, Oct. 29, at the American Legion Hall in Dixfield.

Both events will feature donations for local food pantries, and will provide an opportunity to meet the candidates, as well as to become involved in the final preparation for Election Day.

The Democratic offices in Rumford, Norway, Bridgton and Fryeburg will be open regularly during the final weeks of the campaign, and all are welcoming volunteers. Those willing to donate a few hours are asked to contact Oxford County Democratic chair Cathy Newell at 875-2116.

Community events have been a focus of the group. Congressman Mike Michaud, State Senate candidate Laura Ordway and House District candidate Rep. Helen Rankin led the Democratic participation in the Fryeburg Fair parade on Oct. 9. Several decorated vehicles and many marchers were in evidence supporting Libby Mitchell for Governor, Michaud for Congress and the legislative and county candidates in the region.

The County Democrats also participated in Rumford’s Oktoberfest at the Armory on Oct. 16 and will participate in the Oxford Hills Business Showcase on Oct. 23.
