WINTHROP – The Winthrop Little Ramblers upped their record to 8-0, defeating Lisbon Rec, 14-13 in overtime in a battle of the unbeaten CMFL teams Sunday night in Grade 5-6 football action.

Hunter Williams scored for Lisbon on the opening play of the game. Alec Brown of Winthrop knotted the score at 6-6 in the second half.

Lisbon scored on the first series of overtime on a touchdown run by Chris Normand. Tyler Hall’s extra point put Lisbon up 13-6.

Matt Ingram swept right on a quarterback keeper to bring the score to 13-12. The Ramblers chose to go for the two-point conversion. Alec Brown bulled into the end zone to seal the victory for Winthrop.

CMFL playoffs begin this week.
