FREEPORT — At the recent annual membership meeting of The Home Care and Hospice Alliance of Maine, Greg Pizzo, board president, facilitated the presentation of six special recognition awards.
Among the six honorees was the recipient of the Board Member of the Year Award. The award was presented to Mary MacMahon, board member of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice in Lewiston.
AHCH President and CEO Julie Shackley nominated MacMahon for the award. In her remarks honoring MacMahon, she noted that her beginning involvement with the agency’s Hospice House capital campaign was the springboard for her continued leadership in building the agency’s philanthropy program.
“Mary has been a steadfast voice on the board about the importance of community support in sustaining our mission. She has played a significant part in the growth of our fundraising events, increased donor stewardship and most recently the launching of our Charitable Gift Annuity Program,” said Shackley.
In addition to her board service, McMahon is an active volunteer at the AHCH Hospice House.
