LEWISTON — Connie Lou Farmer, 64, of Auburn, died Saturday, Oct. 23, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, with family by her side.
She was born Sept. 27, 1946, in Farmington, a twin daughter of Glenwood and Eletrice (Stewart) Farmer. She received her education in Farmington schools and was a graduate of Farmington High School, Class of 1965.
She graduated from Gray’s Business School in Portland in 1966, and for 37 years was employed in the office at G.H. Bass. She also was employed at the Sun Journal in Lewiston.
Her family was her priority and she was always lovingly keeping track of the activities and whereabouts of all of her family members. Christmas was a special time of year for her, as she devoted much time baking and helping to organize the Christmas party for special needs children and adults at the Henderson Memorial Baptist Church in Farmington.
Connie enjoyed knitting, reading and caring for her precious kitties, “Jorja” and “Miss Kitty.”
She is survived by her nephew and caretaker, whom she helped raise, Steven Farmer of Auburn; her father, Glenwood Farmer of Farmington; her five siblings, sisters Sharon Stevens of Gardiner and Deanne Hyer and her husband, Alton, of Augusta; brothers, Glendon Farmer and his wife, Cathy, of Farmington and Gregory Farmer and his wife, Debbie, of New Vineyard, and sister Kim Smart and her husband, Gregg, of Thorndike; sister-in-law, Alice Thompson and her husband, Paul, of Industry; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, one great-great nephew and several cousins, all of whom she adored and who adored her.
She was predeceased by her mother; brother, David; twin sister, Bonnie; and brother-in-law, Eric Stevens.
