JAY — Selectmen will hear a recommendation for a contract for single-sort recycling during the board’s meeting Monday, Oct. 25.
This will be the first meeting at the new starting time of 6 p.m. at the town office, Town Manager Ruth Cushman said.
Selectmen previously agreed to go with single-sort recycling, where residents can put all of their recyclables into the same container, rather than in separate containers.
A truck has been ordered that will handle both recyclables and trash when doing curbside pickup for residents and businesses in town.
Selectmen will also consider revising the town’s Smoking Policy, Cushman said.
She will request that the town office/police station complex and the North Jay Sewage Treatment Plant be made no smoking campuses, she said.
The board will also discuss having a process for all agencies that request money from the town to submit detailed financial information, what the agencies offer to residents, and how many residents are serviced by these agencies, Cushman said.
Selectmen will also consider authorizing a loader purchase; administration of a health spending account, get an update on the harvesting at the recreation lot, and discuss a town meeting date.
