DEAR SUN SPOTS: Thank you so much for all the help you give to people. You are the best part of the paper!

I want to thank everyone who sent me Western books, especially Sherry from Gardiner, David (from Lewiston, I think) and the lady I met at the post office in Mechanic Falls (I forgot her name). I have met some wonderful people!

Now, for Mel in Lewiston who wanted a recipe for creamy and smooth peanut butter fudge. This is as creamy and smooth and sweet as it gets.

Melt one stick butter in saucepan. Add one teaspoon vanilla and 3/4 cups milk. When butter has melted, add a two-pound bag confectioners sugar. Stir and mix well.

Remove from heat. Stir in one cup creamy peanut butter. If it’s too thick to pour into a 9- by 13-inch pan, just add a little more milk. If it’s too thin, just add more peanut butter. I microwave the peanut butter for 30 seconds; it makes stirring easier.

Everyone always ask me for this recipe. Enjoy! — Judy LeBroke, Norway
