LEWISTON — L/A Arts’ Gallery 5 will host Pecha Kucha Night, a high-energy evening of creative folks sharing ideas, on Friday, Nov. 5.

Each presenter will show and talk about 20 images for 20 seconds each. That’s six minutes and 40 seconds to get audience members thinking.

Presenters will be painters Greyling Cunningham and Ed McCarten;  installation artist Amy Curtis; illustrator Hillary Eaton; photographer Arthur Fink; Tammie Grieshaber of Gallery 5, who will disucss “What is vision?;” and Steve Myers of Platz Associates, who will talk about the vision for the Bates Mill complex.

“During the two years that I curated Gallery 5, I was awed by the number of creative people in our community and the impact that they have on our daily lives. PKN is an opportunity for all sorts of folks to come together, as participants and as presenters. People network and new ideas emerge,” Grieshaber said.

Pecha Kucha Night was started in Tokyo by Klein Dytham Architecture in 2003 as a way for young designers to meet, network and show their work. It is now a trademarked event.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Presentations will begin at 6:20. Admission is $5 at the door. Gallery 5 is at 49 Lisbon St.
