Lisbon Community School Principal Carlene Iverson and LCS School Resource Officer Darin Estes, right, accept a grant of $250 for the school from Phil Williams, an associate at the Wal-Mart Distribution Center in Lewiston. The donation was part of Wal-Mart’s VAP (Volunteerism Always Pays) Program. Williams spent more than 25 hours volunteering his time assisting Estes with Lisbon’s fifth-grade DARE Bass Fishing Club. The club offered 24 students two lessons and three fishing trips to Sabattus Lake. The Wal-Mart grant will be used to buy additional titles for the school’s library not currently budgeted, Iverson said.
