LISBON — A fire Wednesday that destroyed a home at 177 Lisbon St. was caused by “improper use of an electrical strip,” Chief P. Sean Galipeau said Thursday.
Chris Stanford of the State Fire Marshal’s Office inspected the home Thursday morning, determined the cause and ruled the fire was accidental, Galipeau said.
The strip was being used in a computer area of the dining room. The home owner, Robert Robitaille, was not at his house when the blaze erupted shortly after 7 p.m. Wednesday.
The two-story, wood-frame, single-family home was destroyed with loss estimated at $150,000. It was insured, Galipeau said.
