Veterans Day

WEST PARIS — The Ring-McKeen Post 157 American Legion and Auxiliary will again sponsor a Veterans Day parade and program on Thursday, Nov. 11.

Line up for the parade will be at 10:30 a.m. at Agnes L. Gray School. At 11 a.m., participants will march to the Veterans Memorial Park at the corner of Maple and Main streets for a ceremony, which will include prayers, readings and songs.

In case of inclement weather, the group will meet at the monuments at 11 a.m. and not march.

Church performance

LIVERMORE FALLS — The Glorification Singers will perform at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, at Eaton Memorial United Methodist Church. A love offering will be taken.

The music ministry group has been together since 1991. They are based in New York and have performed at many locations on the East Coast. They have been nominated as the Vocal Group of the Year by both the Christian Country Music Association and Power Source magazine.

Public supper

JAY — A free public supper will be held Saturday, Nov. 13, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 148 Main St. Doors will open at 3:30 p.m., serving from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

The menu will include roast turkey, salad, soup, bread, vegetables and desserts. Donations will be accepted. Supplies are needed; call 779-6951. In December, the hall will open at noon to help people stay warm and socialize.

Reverend retiring

WATERFORD — The Waterford Congregational Church on Plummer Hill in Waterford Flat has extended an invitation to the community to worship on Sunday, Nov. 14.

After 10 years in the pulpit, the Rev. Anita White is retiring. The service will start at 10 a.m. and will be followed by a reception at the Wilkins House with cake and coffee and an opportunity to wish White well as she nears her retirement.

Church supper

MEXICO — A public supper will be served at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, at the Mexico Congregational United Church of Christ (the “Green Church”).

The menu will consist of a traditional roast turkey dinner, including homemade pies. Cost for adults, $7; children under 12, $3.

Class lunch

RUMFORD — The Stephens High School Class of 1945 will meet for lunch at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, at the River Valley Grill. If attending, call Connie at 364-8785.
