EAST WILTON — Margaret “Peggy” Taylor, 67, a resident of East Wilton, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 6, surrounded by family and loved ones at her home.

Born in Framingham, Mass., on March 28, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Frank L. Travers III and Genevieve Mooney of Medfield, Mass. On Oct. 24, 1964, she married Robert D. Taylor. They two raised four sons in Hopkinton, Mass., prior to moving the family to Maine in 1985.

In Massachusetts she worked in data processing and in Maine worked at the Western Maine Area Agency on Aging as an elderly advocate. She ran a home business, “Hawthorne Tree Herbals,” featuring a line of handcrafted products. She also attended the University of Maine at Farmington where she studied creative writing. She taught Sunday school at the Episcopal Church of the Advent in Medfield, Mass., and at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Hopkinton, Mass.

Peggy was a former member of the Eastern Star and she volunteered for organizations including SAVES (Sexual Assault Victims Emergency Services). She enjoyed gardening, crafts and catching fireflies with her grandchildren. She loved her pre-Civil War farmhouse, the New England Patriots and her collections of Coca-Cola memorabilia, music boxes and anything with dragonflies on it.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Bob Taylor of East Wilton; her loving sons and daughters-in-law, Rob and Julie Taylor of Jay, Tim and Jane Taylor of Scarborough, Brian and Jessica Taylor of Poland, Rob and Christy Hmieleski of Stanford, Ky.; her eight cherished grandchildren, Kimberly (Hutchinson) Halcomb, Christopher Hmieleski, Erik Taylor, Emily Taylor, Kaitlyn Hmieleski, Ethan Taylor, Ruby Taylor and Maya Taylor; her great-grandson, Ian Halcomb; her devoted sister and brother-in-law, Jane and David Desilets of Hopkinton, Mass.; and her treasured nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and many other adoring family and friends.

She was predeceased by her brother, Frank L. Travers IV.
