Legion fair

MECHANIC FALLS — The American Legion Post 150 Ladies Auxiliary will host a Chinese auction and craft fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, at the Legion hall.

There will be white elephant tables, Rada knives, a food sale and raffles.

DAR to meet

SABATTUS — Burnt Meadow Chapter, National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution, will meet at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, at the home of Joanne Coombs.

After a brief business meeting, Ann Thomas, state membership chairman, will present a program on membership and how the process to become a member has changed over the years with the digital technology.

Plans for the Veterans Project and the Christmas season luncheon will be discussed. Further information is available by calling Violet Gerber at 375-2698.

Group meeting

LEWISTON — The Androscoggin Valley Soil and Water Conservation District will host a meeting of the Androscoggin and Sagadahoc counties’ USDA Local Working Group from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, at the USDA Service Center, 254 Goddard Road.

Local Working Groups assist the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service in matters relating to the implementation and technical aspects of conservation programs under Title II of the Food, Conservation and Energy Act of 2008 (2008 Farm Bill).  The meeting is open to the public, but requires an RSVP. Bridge play

LEWISTON — The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on Nov. 8 were as follows: first, Les Buzzell and Paul Sherman; second, Lue Bilodeau and Luke Merry; third, Anna Vitiello and Rosemarie Goodwin.

Person to Person

POLAND — “What’s My Line?,” the popular TV show of the 1960s, will be reprised for the Person to Person series from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 14, at the Ricker Memorial Library.

A Poland version of the show will be hosted by Dana Lee, town manager, and a panel of four will try to determine the occupation of two local citizens and the identity of a mystery guest with their insightful questions.

The program will be preceded by a potluck supper. Guests are asked to bring a casserole, salad or dessert to share. Everyone is invited to join.
