Mark your calendars for December 3 and plan on participating in the annual Christmas in the Valley parade. The theme for this years’ parade is “A Caroling Christmas,” so get your thinking caps on and start working on your float. There will be trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in the business/commercial category and in the non-profit/civic category. Floats will start lining up at 5 p.m. at Mountain Valley High School and the parade will start promptly at 6 p.m. from Mountain Valley High School, continuing down the Walking Path Lane (the entrance to the Hosmer Field Complex on Hancock St.), Waldo Street, and around the rotary, and will end at the head of Congress St. in Rumford where Santa will light the tree. Immediately after the tree lighting, Santa will travel to the Rumford Fire Station where he will meet with the children. Bring your cameras if you would like to have your child’s picture taken with Santa.

For more information on the parade or for a registration form and parade rules to enter a float, stop by the Chamber office at 10 Bridge St. (Rumford Information Center) or by calling Peter at 364-3241.

Sponsored by the River Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Rumford Firemen’s Relief.
